Winter 2014 Outstanding TA Awards
In the Department of Computer Science, and all across campus, Teaching Assistants are pivotal to the success of our undergraduate students. Each quarter we recognize those TAs who went above and beyond to support our students and faculty by presenting them with the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award.
The recipients of the Outstanding TA Award for Winter 2014 are:
Keith Avery – Keith was nominated by Tim Sherwood (CS 160) for his initiative and dedication to students. One student in CS 160 said, “Keith is the best TA I’ve had…He answers emails promptly…holds extra office hours…and posts his slides online with helpful hints and explanations…”
Kyle Dewey– Kyle was nominated by Ben Hardekopf for his significant contributions to the restructuring of CS 162 and for his ability to handle change and last minute additions gracefully. Kyle’s students say he is extremely helpful, approachable, enthusiastic, and thorough.
Kyle Jorgensen – Kyle was nominated by the Graduate Affairs Committee for his standout efforts in CS 56. Kyle’s students say he was “good at helping [them] understand the course and perceive the concepts, was responsive to email, [and] worked very hard.”
Congratulations to our Outstanding TAs!
