Ishtiyaque Ahmad Receives Prestigious IBM PhD Fellowship Award
Third year PhD student Ishtiyaque Ahmad was selected from hundreds of applications across 132 universities around the world to receive the 2022 IBM PhD Fellowship. This program provides recipients a $35,000 stipend and $25,000 education allowance to further their exceptional research. Applications were evaluated by IBM's technologists and selected for their academic excellence and innovative research proposals.
Ahmad was nominated by Prof. Divyakant Agrawal for his work in the intersection of distributed systems, data management, and applied cryptography. Ahmad's research goal is "to break the prevailing tension between scalability and privacy in present days' technological solutions".
