The distinguished award recognizes individual contributions to both the practical and theoretical aspects of computing and information technology, and is given to ACM members with at least 15 years of professional experience who have achieved significant accomplishments or have made a significant impact on the computing field. Elizabeth’s research focuses on mobile networking, specifically multimedia, monitoring, advanced service support, and solutions for developing and underdeveloped regions. She is the founder and director of the Mobility Management and Networking (MOMENT) Laboratory.
