The Computer Science Department at UCSB has a perfect sweep of ALL the
academic senate awards in 2011:

- Linda R. Petzold, Faculty Research Lecturer
The Faculty Research Lectureship is awarded annually to the faculty member determined to be the most distinguished for research or other creative achievement. Candidates are nominated by their peers, and the final selection is made by an Academic Senate committee consisting of previous Faculty Research Lecturers. This award is considered to be the highest honor the UCSB faculty can bestow on one of its members.

- Divy Agrawal, Outstanding Graduate Mentor
Mentoring graduate students is a vital component of our mission as a research university; it includes training graduate students for careers in research and teaching and preparing them to meet the highest professional and ethical standards as scholars and educators. The Outstanding Graduate Mentor Award recognizes the contributions of faculty whose mentoring is considered exemplary.

- Phillip Conrad, Distinguished Teaching Award
The Distinguished Teaching Award acknowledges the efforts of Senate faculty members who have successfully united teaching and research. Non-Senate faculty are judged on their excellence in teaching and their contributions to the teaching mission of the University.

- Bryce Boe, Outstanding Teaching Assistant
Each year, teaching assistants play a vital role enhancing the teaching mission of the University. The Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award recognizes the contributions of graduate students to the teaching and learning process of UC Santa Barbara.

The Computer Science Department is the only department that received all the awards given in a particular year in the UCSB’s history.

Congratulations!
