Ted Kim, a professor of Media Arts and Technology with a joint appointment in Computer Science, has been awarded an Academy Award in Technical Achievement by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The award will be presented to Prof. Kim and his colleagues on February 9 for their invention of the simulation method known as wavelet turbulence and for the resulting contribution to filmmaking.
