NSF awards two grants to Prof. Elizabeth Belding for "Expanding Internet Accessibility, Participation, and Community-Building on Native American Reservations"
Congratulations to Professor Elizabeth Belding, on receiving NSF grants for two of her collaborative research projects. Both the EAGER (Early-Concept Grants for Exploratory Research) and the NeTS (Networking Technology and Systems) projects address the dearth of broadband availability and Internet access for Native Americans on tribal reservation lands -- often rural and remote -- within the U.S. The goal of Prof. Belding's research is to develop technologies to close the connectivity gap, transforming and strengthening Native American communities through expanded Internet accessibility, and supporting social media content production and dissemination across the reservation.
