Welcome to the Computer Science Department's annual news magazine! This publication celebrates the achievements, research, awards, and milestones that have defined the past year for our department. We invite you to explore this snapshot of the exciting work, discoveries, and accomplishments of our faculty and students. AI @ UC Santa Barbara, Volume No.7, explores current research and initiatives our department is conducting in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its growing impact on today's technology landscape. AI is reshaping every sector of society, from healthcare and climate science to national security and global commerce. Computer Science at UC Santa Barbara is meeting this moment with the launch of a new Bachelor’s degree in AI—designed to prepare students not just to participate in this transformation, but to lead it. We also engage actively with AI in our local context by building lasting partnerships across campus and with regional industry to ensure that our students and research have a real-world impact. |
