Bio

Professor Gibou received his PhD from the Applied Mathematics Department at UCLA, and did his post-doctoral research in the Departments of Mathematics and Computer Science at Stanford University. He joined the UCSB faculty in 2004.

Research

The research of Professor Gibou is focused on the design and on the applications of high resolution computational methods for a variety of applications including Free Boundary Problems, CFD, Multiphase Flows, Electrostatics, Materials Science, Computer Vision and Computer Graphics. The main commonality in these applications is that they are described by similar classes of nonlinear partial differential equations.
