The Google Faculty Research Award is to identify and strengthen long-term collaborative relationships with faculty working on problems that will impact how future generations use technology. It is highly competitive - this round Google AI received 910 proposals covering 40 countries and over 320 universities. After expert reviews and committee discussions, Google AI decided to fund 158 projects. Our CS Department has two recipients of Google Faculty Research Awards this year: Prof. Tao Yang and Prof. William Wang. Congratulations to them!
