Teaching Professor Diba Mirza Selected for CRA’s 2026 Emerging Leaders Cohort

The Department of Computer Science at UC Santa Barbara is pleased to congratulate Teaching Professor and Department Vice Chair Diba Mirza on being selected as a member of the Computing Research Association’s 2026 Emerging Leaders Cohort.

The CRA Emerging Leaders Cohort is a new program introduced for the 2026 CRA Summit. It is designed to bring rising leaders into the CRA Summit community, with an emphasis on network-building, visibility, and engagement with senior leaders across academia, industry, government, and research labs. Selected cohort members will participate in Summit programming and have opportunities to connect with department chairs, deans, and other leaders in the computing research community. (CRA).

Mirza’s selection recognizes her growing leadership and contributions to the computing research and education community. The program was highly competitive, and each CRA member unit was invited to nominate one individual from its institution (CRA).
