Fellowships
My work is partially sponsored by:
- James D. Kline fellowship for work that promotes international understanding
- UCSB OISS President's Work-Study Award
My work is NOT sponsored by military funding. Professor Benjamin Kuipers from the University of Michighan has a nice page that explains why you should not take military funding. link

Research Statement
My current research is focused on wireless networks in rural areas, specifically in power constrained environments, yet I feel that the description is incomplete when taken out of the broader context and that would be: providing inexpensive, reliable network access to rural areas of the developing world.
Although my research lies in the field of computer science I am striving, through the contacts I have with professors from the other departments, towards better understanding of social and economical implications that my work may carry. I deeply feel that bridging the digital divide is one of the major things to be done in order for the society to advance towards a better future in general.
