Few Things About Me
I fell in love with Santa Barbara on a family trip along the west coast. Since then, I decided I wanted to come back. Later on, choosing UCSB for graduate school was easy! Santa Barbara and UCSB simply complete my package: excellent education, perfect weather, and almost year-round outdoor activities.
In addition to my academic life, I enjoy outdoor activities and sports of all sorts. And, as they say, healthy mind in a healthy body!
At UCSB, I was a member of the ultimate frisbee intramural (IM) team called "I'm Feeling Lucky", which first came together in ~2004. We've even got matching shirts provided by Google! I have been playing with this team since I joined the program in Fall of 2008. And from the Summer of 2011 to the Summer of 2013, I was the team captain.
Women in Computer Science (WiCS)
For the 2008-2009 school year, I was the vice-president of the WiCS. For the 2009-2010, I was the president.
WiCS was formed with an intent to provide a social and academic forum for women to meet and to get to know each other. A few activities we have had are: potluck dinners, hikes, coffee hours, talks on succeeding in grad school, and programs to reach out to undergrads.
