Nicole McCoy came to UCSB in 2010 and began working in graduate student affairs. She gained experience in Molecular, Cellular Developmental Biology, Biomolecular Science and Engineering, and the Department of Geography. She was the Student Programs Manager for Geography, which led to her current position as Student Affairs Manager with the Department of Computer Science; where she enjoys interacting with students, faculty, and staff.
Prior to working at UCSB, Nicole was a Geographic Information Systems professional in the Santa Barbara area and in Washington State for almost 20 years. She also enjoys participating in campus professional development programs for staff, both for personal reasons and to help other staff members. She recently completed serving three years on the Chancellor's Staff Advisory Council and currently is on the Gaucho Mentor Connection committee.
In her leisure time, she enjoys hiking, beach combing, live music, making succulent arrangements, and social time with friends and family.
